KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Kalene Griffith, President of Visit Bentonville
Kalene Griffith is the president of Visit Bentonville. Her goal is to share her enthusiasm and experiences with others about Bentonville, Arkansas as a tourism destination. In recent years the city has become a cycling destination, with Visit Bentonville playing a key role to promote and advertise nationally. Her passion for cycling has evolved as the trails and biking experience has grown in the community. A lifelong runner, she has recently turned her focus to bikes and is often seen on the trails. In the last seven years, Bentonville has increased the number of cycling events and meetings by 130%. In the last two years there has been an increase from 3 to 23 events/meetings as well as an increase of media coverage by 300%. Kalene and other cycling enthusiasts have lead the effort in getting the Governor’s Advisory Board on Cycling to put the sport at the forefront of tourism, along with the highway department and economic development, as a key growth component in the state. Visit Bentonville’s continued success in cycling can be attributed to engagement and collaboration with individuals and corporations in the cycling industry around the world.
