New this spring, Bike Miami Valley is offering education programs for adults interested but concerned about replacing short car trips with a bike ride. Did you know that over 40% of trips made in the United States are less than 3 miles, accoding to PeopleforBikes.org? That means there are plenty of opportunities to get active, have fun, and save some money when you bike for more reasons.
We are offering FREE informational and on-bike courses April – November. The courses are open to anybody 18 years and up. Registration is online, because each program is different. All courses start at 6:00PM at the Link Shop at 4. S. Main Street in Dayton. They are the 2nd Wednesday, 3rd Wednesday, and 4th Tuesday monthly.

Have you seen those Link Bikes around town? Are you curious how it all works? This informational class is for people interested but concerned about bicycling, curious about the Link Dayton Bike Share, and want to address common barriers to biking for short trips in and around downtown. Learn how to take the first ride with us!
Bike Commuting 101:
Are you comfortable riding your bike & thinking about commuting to work, the store, or trying to replace more car trips by bike? Join certified Cycling Instructors as we review common questions and talk solutions. Learn benefits of bike commuting, confident riding skills and traffic laws. Get practical safety tips, hands-on route planning with local resources & more!
On-Street Riding 101:
Get on a bike! Discuss riding skills for individuals or groups and traffic laws. Review hand signals and changing lanes. Talk helmet and overview a riding route. Then join certified Cycling Instructors on a short bike ride to practice pedaling to different locations. Gain confidence on the quiet streets of downtown after the workday ends.
