What:

The Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century (TEA-21) is a national transportation bill. It's from this legislation that all states and U.S. territories derive their federal transportation funds.

Why:

But the money won't actually get spent on improving conditions for bicyclists unless people like you make your interests known to your state and federal politicians and policy makers. It takes grass-roots advocacy to develop specific projects which can command funding from TEA-21. Bike Miami Valley is your conduit to appropriating TEA-21 funds for bicycle projects. Let's work together to make the Miami Valley a safe and livable bicycle community!

How:

Tell your elected officials how they can make the world a better place by supporting bicycles as alternative transportation. Remember: your feedback and insight can change the way our area, region, state, and country operates. They work for you, and are paid by you. Let them know how important livable communities are to you and your family, and how bicycles can change the world!
