Bicycle Friendly Manual


What is the Bicycle Friendly Manual? The Bicycle Friendly Manual is a bikeway development guide for landscape architects, engineers, planning officials, businesses, bicycle advocacy groups, developers and elected officials. It covers the entire gamut of planning, developing, and managing bikeways for all areas of the community. 98 graphic illustrations, 77 pages.

Who developed the Manual? Edsall & Associates LLC, Landscape Architects/ Land Planners of Columbus, Ohio developed the Manual. It was designed by them under contract to Greene County Park District with the aid and assistance of Bike Miami Valley, Five Rivers MetroParks, Greene County Park District, Village of Yellow Springs and the City of Xenia.

Who Needs Copies of This Manual? You Do if you are involved in advocating a bike trail, designing a trail, engineering or creating a bike trail for your community. The Manual  has been built for your use to provide you with guidance as well as a planning tool. It contains 98 graphic representations of good engineering practice in designing a bicycle trail.
