Thunderhead Alliance is a national nonprofit coalition of organizations advocating for bicyclists, whose mission is "increasing the capacity--funding, membership and strategic ability--of state and local bicycle advocacy organizations and representing bicyclists interests at the federal level."

Bikes Belong Coalition is sponsored by the American Bicycle Industry. Its goal is putting more people on bikes more often. It assists local organizations, agencies, and citizens in developing bicycle facility projects that will be funded by TEA-21, and it is the bicycle industry's political lobbyist.

League Of American Bicyclists promotes cycling for fun, fitness and transportation, and works through advocacy and education for a more bicycle-friendly America. Membership includes 35,000 individuals, 450 recreational clubs, and 45 state and local advocacy organizations.

Association of Pedestrian & Bicycle Professionals promotes excellence in the emerging professional discipline of pedestrian and bicycle transportation. Its members include leaders in the engineering, planning, landscape architecture, safety and promotion fields who specialize in improving conditions for bicycling and walking.

Rails-To-Trails Conservancy is dedicated to creating a nationwide network of public trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors.

National Resources Defense Council uses law, science, and the support of more than 400,000 members nationwide to protect the planet's wildlife and wild places and to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all living things. Ultimately, NRDC strives to help create a new way of life for humankind, one that can be sustained indefinitely without fouling or depleting the resources that support all life on Earth.
